New National Executive of BJP: Who is in who is out from Gujarat
March 31, 2013

By our correspondent, New Delhi, 31 March 2013
Following are some names of people from Gujarat who are part of the new national executive body announced today by BJP’s national president Shri Rajnath Singh in Delhi.
Lal Krishna Advani – Gujarat MP to Lok Sabha from Gandhinagar seat
Arun Jaitley – Gujarat MP to Rajya Sabha
Narendra Modi as BJP national executive permanent invitees Chief Ministers.
Anandi Ben Patel – Third senior minister in the Narendra Modi government after Modi himself and Nitin Patel. She is Revenue, Roads and Building minister at present.
Nitin Patel – Second most senior minister after Narendra Modi in the Narendra Modi government. He is Finance and Health minister.
Purushottam Rupala, Shri Bhupendra Chudasama, Vijay Rupani, Shankarbhai Chaudhary as Permanent invitees. Rupala is outgoing national vice president of the party. His Rajya Sabha term ends next year. He was Gujarat BJP President. He had tasted defeat in the assembly election in 2002 in Amreli. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama is Education minister in Gujarat. He is senior Kshashtriya leader of party in Gujarat. He represents Dholka assembly seat in Amdavad district. Vijay Rupani is former Rajya Sabha MP. His term ended last year. He was denied assembly ticket last year from Rajkot. He is party spokesperson in Gujarat and active in state party organization as General Secretary. Shankarbhai Chaudhary is MLA from north Gujarat. He is active youth organizational leader of BJP, holding the post of General Secretary of the party.
All State Unit Presidents and State General Secretaries (Org.) are the ex-office Special Invitees in the National Executive Committee.
Visible changes, so far as Gujarat is concerned:
Keshubhai Patel was part of the national executive as Ex-Chief Minister, but he resigned from the party and formed his own party.
Amit Thakar was part of the national executive after becoming President of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. Even after stepping down from this post, he continued to become part of the national executive as permanent invitees in ‘others’ category. However in fresh list issued today, his name is absent, so he is no more a part of the national executive any more.
Vadodara Lok Sabha MP Balkrishna Shukla was member of national executive in earlier body, however in fresh list issued today, his name is absent.
Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Anandiben Patel were members of national executive in earlier body. Both names are continued in the new body too.
Nitin Patel is a new name inducted to the national executive from Gujarat. After becoming the second most senior and powerful minister in Gujarat, Nitinbhai is now also placed in the national executive. We can sum up it by saying ‘rise and rise of Nitin Patel.’
Another new entry is Vijay Rupani. He is former Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat. His Rajya Sabha term ended last year, but was not renewed. He was denied assembly ticket to contest from Rajkot last year. He is state party General Secretary.
One more interesting entry if Shankarbhai Chaudhary. He is active in Gujarat BJP organization as General Secretary. He is MLA from north Gujarat’s Banaskantha district. He is a youth leader who emerged from the ranks of Youth BJP.
Parshottam Rupala is no more a vice president of the party now, but he tops the list of permanent invitees in the new body.
Amit Shah who was a member of the national executive body earlier is promoted to the post of General Secretary now.
So far as Gujarat is concerned, the list reflects names of Modi loyalist.
All State Unit Presidents and State General Secretaries (Org.) are the ex-office Special Invitees in the National Executive Committee.
