Palitana observes total strike:Police in search of killer Shabbir

Bhavnagar district’s Palitana town observed bandh today against killing of an 18-year-old girl by a Muslim youth on Monday.
Urmila Rameshbhai Bheda, a girl who was working in a local beauty parlor was passing through the main market on Monday at around 7.30 pm to her home, when Shabbir miya Mehtar(Parimal Society, Gariadhar road) stabbed her in stomach and fled. Urmila couldn’t survive the attack, she collapsed and died.
According to police Shabbir miya was in one-sided love with Urmila. Three months back Urmila had complained about Shabbir’s harassment. Angry with Urmila’s refusal, Shabbir Mehtar killed her.
Urmila was from locally influential Koli community. The leaders of Koli community gathered at Palitana hospital and seeking quick justice they refused to accept the dead body.
In reaction to Monday’s incident, Palitana town observed total strike today. The family of Umrila today accepted the dead body.
Police is investigating the case, and in search of Shabbir Mehtar.
