-Metropolitan Magistrate BJ Ganatra is back in court no. 11. He will start hearing Zakia Jafri’s protest petition against report of Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team from 3rd of June.
-11 Councillors of BJP in Jasdan in Rajkot district today resigned against re-appointment of city BJP president. Resignations of four Councillors were approved.
-After Gujarat Pollution Control Board ordered disconnection of power, Navlakhi port in Rajkot district is closed. All activities of coal loading and unloading are on halt. Pollution Control Board had served notice to Navlakhi port asking it to follow environmental norms, but Navlakhi port neglected the notice. Finally the port faced closure.
-GUJCET result will be declared on 20th of this month.
-District BJP Vice President Bhupatbhai Dabhi has filed nomination to contest Jetpur assembly election. The official candidate of BJP is Vitthal Radadia’s son Jayesh Radadia. BJP leaders are trying best to convince Bhupatbhai to withdraw his nomination before the final date of withdrawal.
-Shabbir Mehtar, accused of Urmila murder case in Palitana was arrested today by police at Songadh railway station. Shabbir was on run after stabbing an 18 year old girl Urmila in market of Palitana. Following the brutal murder, Palitana town observed one-day strike on Tuesday. District Police Chief himself took interest in the case and traced the location of Shabbir. Shabbir was in one-sided love with Urmila. As he failed to get any response from Urmila, first harassed her. Later when Urmila complained about this, he was silent for some time. But on Tuesday when Urmila was going back to her home after completing job at beauty parlor, Shabbir suddenly stabbed her and fled.
-Deputy leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Ravishankar Prasad today addressed a press conference in Amdavad. The content of his briefing was mostly same to what Arun Jaitley today briefed in Delhi. Prasad who is a leader from Bihar said that the Prime Ministerial candidate of NDA will be from BJP and no NDA ally will be allowed to veto the party decision.
-In an exclusive TV interview to Times Now, BJP leader Uma Bharti said that no one is comparable to Atalji and Advaniji in BJP. When asked about Narendra Modi she said that crowds gather not just around Narendra Modi, but around her, Varun Gandhi and other leaders too.
-Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela today visited widow of late Banaskantha MP Mukesh Gadhvi. Krishna Gadhvi, widow of Mukesh Gadhvi has been given ticket to contest Banaskantha Lok Sabha seat by-polls. BJP has fielded Haribhai Chaudhary who was Banaskantha MP in past.
