Ahmedabad, 5 June 2013
In one of the TV debates, BJP spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Mansukh Mandavia today took strong objection against Congress panelist’s remarks that tribal voters were drunk and voted for BJP in exchange of liquor in Morva Hadaf assembly seat by-poll.
A Congress panelist during the debate on a TV channel reacting to BJP’s victory on tribal Morva Hadaf seat said that BJP distributed liquor and drunk tribal voters voted for BJP.
BJP panelist and spokesperson Shri Mansukh Mandavia took strong objection against this remark and angrily said that this Congress is insulting and undermining state’s tribal voters, and such remarks are not forgivable.
Congress panelist was also asked whether Congress also won Morva Hadaf seat in the last election through distribution of liquor or what?
As always, break was declared and discussion was halted at this point.
It should be mentioned here that BJP woman candidate Nimishaben Suthar has been victorious on tribal dominated Morva Hadaf seat in central Gujarat. Just before six months, in general elections of Gujarat assembly last year, Congress candidate Savitaben Khant was victorious on this seat with comfortable margin. Savitaben died on the result day. Congress had fielded Savitaben’s son as candidate.
