Excellent rains continue in Saurashtra and other parts of Gujarat

Various parts of Gujarat including almost entire Saurashtra region continued to recieve rains throughout Monday. Showers in some parts of Saurashtra were so strong that some dams started overflowing, and some roads faced major damage.
Due to major break down, Amreli-Lathi highway and Gondal-Amreli highway were closed for traffic.
Around dozen villages in Junagadh district were alerted due to overflowing Ozat dam.
In Amreli district, Kalubhar and other small rivers were nearly flooding.
Coastal Madhavpur belt received 4 inch rain in 3 hours. New inflow of water was noticed in Ghee, Rupavant, Vartu, Shetrunji, Bhadar, Sarad, Bhadar, Madhuvant, Hiran, Jajeshri, Uben, Dhrafad, Machhundri, Raval, Bhatvakharo, Ambajal, Sambli, Amipur, Kalindri and Fodala dams.
Bhavnagar district’s Palitana also received heavy rain.
Due to heavy rain in upstream areas, South Gujarat’s Ukai and central Gujarat’s Narmada dam received fresh addition of water.
