Modi declares Rs. 5 lac aid to families of IAF chopper crash victims


Five IAF jawans among those who died


Gandhinagar, 25 June 2013

Late in the evening on Tuesday, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced Rs. 5 lakh aid to families of those armed force jawans who lost their life in helicopter crash at Gaurikund in Uttarakhand during rescue operation.

Shri Modi tweeted: I salute our armed forces who sacrificed their lives in saving people in Uttarakhand. Gujarat government will give aid of Rs. 5 lac to their families.

It should be mentioned that the IAF Mi-17 crash today killed 13 IAF, ITBP, NDRF personnel. The unofficial figure is 19 however

    As a part of “Raj-Dharma” a strong country with strong defense and high maorale standards of defense family are a must. A good move to boost the morale of the families involved in the tragedy to let them know the whole country is behind them in the welfare of families of armed forces for all reasons.
