A train full of relief material for Uttarakhand leaves Ahmedabad

A train full of relief material for Uttarakhand flood affected people today left Ahmedabad railway station.

State Revenue minister, Collector, local MLAs among others were present on this occasion.

The train contains 508 tonne relief material worth Rs. 5 crore. The Gujarat government has so far sent 15,034 kits from various districts. Ahmedabad district has sent 4,750 kits. These kits are collected from Ahmedabad, six districts of Saurashtra, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Anand, Kheda, Dahod etc districts. Various APMC, Uttam dairy and other charity organizations have contributed to this cause.

Inspired by Shri Swaminarayan Gaadi Acharya Purushottam Priyadasji Maharaj, the Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan Maninagar mandir contributed 3,000 jumbo kits. Each kit contains 38 things of daily usage like towel, soap, comb, nashta, water, oil, ghee, sugar, masala, stove, umbrella, raincoat, tent etc. Six persons can survive for 15 days using one kit.

Maninagar Mandir Mahant Shri Bhagawatpriyadasji Swami presented Rs. 2.50 lakh donation through cheque to Collector. Kothari Swami Shri Munishwardasji and others were present on this occasion.

Meanwhile the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry today presented Rs. 65 lakh cheque to Chief Minister Narendra Modi as contribution to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for calamity-hit people of Uttarakhand. SGCCI President Shri Kamlesh Yagnik, Lok Sabha MP Shri CR Patil and others were present on this occasion.

Surat Bunkar Cooperative Sangh Art Silk Powerloom weavers members presented Rs. 11 lakh cheque to Chief Minister for relief fund. Sangh President Shri Rajnikant Chevli was present on this occasion.

Bhavangar based Bhaktamar Mandir Trust presented Rs. 1 lakh cheque to same fund. Bhavnagar West MLA Jitubhai Waghani was present on the occassion of presenting cheque to Chief Minister. The Trust has postponed its annual function to save money for contribution to CM’s relief fund.

Vadtal Gadi Swaminarayan Mandir presented Rs. 5 lakh cheque to Chief Minister for relief fund. Nana Lalji Shri Pushpendraprasadji Maharaj and others were present on this occasion.
