-Ishrat Jahan encounter case: Top cop P.P.Pandey filed plea in Gujarat High Court to get anticipatory bail. The High Court has given him relief. He will not be arrested till 6 August.

-Tourism Minister Saurabh Patel announces Saputara monsoon festival 2013. The monsoon festival shall be held between 3 August and 1September.

-Khusbhu Gujarat Ki: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan likely to come to Gujarat in last week of August for shooting of more ad films.

-Mandal-Becharaji SIR: Farmers against proposed SIR to hold talk with high-level committee formed by the state government today at 5.30 pm.

-Gujarat BJP media training workshop begins in Gandhinagar. Narendra Modi, Nirmala Sitharama, Smriti Irani among those addressing the workshop.

-The Supreme Court of India has stayed Gujarat High Court order on college admission procedure in Gujarat. The High Court had in its verdict directed the state govt to cancel all admissions given through percentile method and make a new merit list. As over 50,000 students were already given admissions, this order of High Court was challenged by Gujarat govt in the Supreme Court. The Apex court has now stayed HC order and asked to start admission and fee procedure as per the percentile method in two days.
