Gujarat NSUI President barred from appearing in exams for five semesters

Gujarat unit president of Congress’s student wing National Students Union of India(NSUI) Adityasinh Gohil has been barred from appearing in exams for five semesters. Saurashtra University syndicate member’s son Vivek Hirani is also barred for same period.

Both of them were booked and arrested by Rajkot’s Gandhigram police in October this year for placing dummy students to appear in LLB exam. They were later released on bail.

According to details available, as many as seven dummy candidates appearing for LLB semester-1 exam were caught by Gandhigram police with help of exam supervisor Liyakat Hussain Saiyed at Harivanadana college in Rajkot which is owned by Congress leader Mahesh Chauhan.

One Sohil Fakirmohammad Jeriya(Shivshakti colony) was found appearing as dummy for NSUI Gujarat unit president Adityarajsinh Gohil on seat no.11393. This seat number was originally allotted to Gohil.

According to police, college’s administrative department employee Harshad Gondalia, Vishnu Bharad and Sagar Babaria made necessary arrangements for dummy students.

On complaint of Liyakathussain Shekhawathussain Saiyed, Gandhigram police booked seven including Gujarat NSUI president Adityasinh Gohil under IPC section 419, 465 and 114. While five accused were arrested imidiately and later released on bail, Adityasinh Gohil and Syndicate member Chandrakant Hirani’s son Vivek Hirani could be arrested after two days as they were untraced. They too were released on bail later on. Saurashtra University canceled examination center at Harivandana college. The University had asked examination disciplinary committee to take decision on punishment to Adityasinh Gohil and Vivek Hirani.
