Update:108 emergency service received 2978 calls on Uttarayan day. 180 cases of kite string injury, 176 falls, 682 accidents and 192 clashes reported. On Vaasi Uttarayan day(15 January) total 903 calls were received by noon. Of them 7 were kite string injury calls, 21 falls, 65 accidents and 15 clashes.

According to the 108 emergency service, on Uttarayan day, total 130 cases of injury due to lethal kite string, 71 cases of falling down from height, 109 cases of clashes and 433 accidents are noticed.

The figure from Ahmeadbad: 26 string injury, 12 falls, 11 clashes and 35 accidents.

One person in Ahmedabad died due to current while trying to catch kite, while other person died in city’s V.S.hospital due to string injury on throat.

In various cities, police today continued to raid the shops and seized Chinese string which has been banned.

Meanwhile as many as 14 birds are treated in Ahmedabad based bird treatment center. All of them were injured due to lethal kite string.
