CM opens girls hostel at Devka, Rs 1.5 cr donation for ITI announced

Gujarat’s first woman Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel today dedicated 1 700-capacity ‘Vashundhra-Riddhi Girls Hostel’, built at Devka village in Rajula taluka of Amreli district, to the people. The hostel is built by the Devka Vidhyapith for the girl students of seafarer regions.

Speaking at the function, Smt. Patel urged the people to be partnered in the Maha Yagna organized for instilling good virtues and values among the children by the leaders of the society and saints as according to a study a child is imbibing the 86% knowledge of life and virtues and values by the age of 8-years.

Firstly the mother and family will have to take care of instilling good virtues, values, and then after teachers, society’s leaders, and saints will have to join with the state government, she added and also felicitated noted kathakaar and respected saint Rameshbhai Oza, popularly known as “Bhaiji”, for establishing an educational institution in seafarers region.

The Chief Minister had also expressed concerned over the prevailing of serious problems like killings of child-foetuses, along with lack of education amongst girl child in tribal and seafarer region. However, due to state government’s mass scale drives – in association with social service institutions — such as “save girl child”, “Educate Girl Child” and “School Admission” have help in defeating these menaces. Smt. Patel had also appealed to the gathering that every family take a pledge that daughter also has right to take birth.

Speaking at the function, Gujarat’s education minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasma said, it is a welcomed step that the saints are doing the noble works like instilling good virtues and values and building good society, along with spreading religious devotion in the society. The saints have given a larger contribution in uplifting the humans. He further expressed that he was very much impressed with the educational activities being done by the Devka Vidhyapith.

Giving details of the efforts made by Gujarat government, during the last 12-years, for giving priority to the qualitative education, education to the girl-child, and school admission drive, Mr. Chudasma said, the school admission ratio has gone up from 75 to 99%, but, aim is to take it to 100%. The school drop ratio between standard one and five is also aimed at zero per cent, he further added.

Others who spoke on the occasion also included Mahamandaleshwar Karshni Guru Shree Sharnananji Maharaj of Vrundavan Ramanreti Ashram, Kathakaar Bhaji, and Mr. Gautambhai Oza.

On the occasion, Bhaiji’s follower industrialists and owners of Harikrishna, Ramkrishna and Anjani groups had donated Rs. 1.51-crore for setting up a ITI college at Devka.

The function was attended by chairman of religious pilgrimage places Mr. Mahendrabhai Trivedi, MLAs – Mr. Hirabhai Solanki, Mr. Bhavku Ughad, Mr. Nalinbhai Kotadiya, Mr. Janakbhai Kachhadiya, district panchayat president Mr. Sharadbhai Lakhani, BJP district president Mr. Manshukhbhai Sukhdiya, and others.

Donation of Rs. 1.5 crore for ITI

Disciples of Rameshbhai Oza Harikrushna Ramkrushna and Anjani Group owner Govindbhai, Lavjibhai, Savjibhai and Tulsibhai Dholakia today announced donation of Rs. 1.51 crore for construction of ITI college in Devka.

Founder of Devka Vidyapith Shri Ramesh Ojha had earlier in his speech wished to start an ITI to build skilled human resource for coastal industries in Babariavad area in same district. In response to Shri Oza’s speech, the donors announced donation immediately.
