Congress loses power in Gandhinagar district panchayat as leaders join BJP

Gandhinagar district panchayat president Hinaben Patel today joined BJP with 8 members including three chairmen of committees.
This will put end to Congress rule in district panchayat body.
Announcement in this regard was made in a press conference at the state BJP headquarters ‘Kamalam’ in Gandhinagar on Monday morning in presence of party leaders IK Jadeja and Kaushik Patel.
Congress was elected in Gandhinagar district panchayat with clear majority. About four years term has been completed by present ruling body and elections are to be held in next one year. One Congress member hit by accident arrived at Gujarat BJP headquarters in ambulance to make announcement of joining BJP. Five of eight members who joined BJP are women.
According to BJP leader IK Jadeja 25 out of 26 district panchayats in Gujarat are now with BJP. There’s only one Tapi district panchayat left with Congress at present in Gujarat.
Congress has 19 members in 27-member body of Gandhinagar district panchayat, while BJP has 8 members.
Next general board meeting of Gandhinagar district panchayat is likely to be held on 21st of this month. As 9 members have joined BJP, the total seats of BJP will be 17 against Congress’s 10.

-Sahdevsinh Zala, Charman – Construction committee
Kabhusinh Somsinh Rathod- Chairman, Education committee
Vijaysinh Himmatsinh Chavda – Executive committee member
Ushaben Manubhai Patel – Executive committee member
Bhikhiben Bharatsinh Thakor – Former Vice President and Panchayat member
Mangiben Dilipbhai Patel – Former district president
With this Congress party’s prominent workers Manubhai Patel, Dilip Chaudhary, Ramesh Patel also joined BJP with their supporters.
