Three good news for Gujarat, effective from 15 August

There are three good news for people of Gujarat with effect from 15th of August.

First good news, journey in state transport buses will be cheaper from 15th of August.

State Road and Transport Minister Nitin Patel today after the cabinet meeting announced state government’s decision to reduce passenger tax levied on the ticket fare on the buses operated by the state-run GSRTC by 10%.

At present, 17.5 per cent tax is collected on the bus tickets. From August 15, only 7.5 per cent tax will be applicable on the bus fares. This move would make a dent of Rs 150 crore annually in the state revenue.

Another good news is associated with Mukhyamantri Amrutam(MA) Yojana which presently covers just Below Poverty Line(BPL) families. From August 15, non-BPL families having income of less than Rs 1.2 lakh per year can also avail the benefits of this health scheme at designated hospitals in the state.

Those who possess the MA card, get free treatment of up to Rs 2 lakh per year at government hospitals for neuro surgery, burn injury, trauma, urology and pediatric surgery.

Third good news is about reduction in petrol prices. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today tweeted and announced that price of Petrol will be reduced from midnight of 14/15 August 2014 in the range of Rs.1.89-2.38(Rs 2.18/litre at Delhi).
