Amid shortage of fertilizer in pockets of Gujarat, there’s a news report that suggests government move to fix quota per farmer for subsidize fertilizer supply.
According to a report, depots selling subsidized fertilizer supplied by Government of India are issued directive that they should sell subsidize fertilizer to farmers only after receiving a copy of 7/12 utara.
It has come to notice that Gram sevaks in some areas have conveyed directive to depots that when farmer comes to buy subsidized fertilizer, a shop keeper will have to demand 7/12 copy. Shop keeper will need to later do online registration of that through computer.
The government intends to fix quota for subsidize fertilizer for each farmer on the basis of size of land he owns. A farmer will not get fertilizer more than a quota fixed for him.
