Chinese President Xi Jinping receives grand welcome at Sardar Patel airport(photos/video/report)


Ahmedabad, 17 September 2014

Chinese president Xi Jinping received grand welcome actually at Sardar Patel airport in Ahmedabad. A crowd of photographers, videographers, government officials and others was too close to Jinping when he was walking on tarmac of Sardar Patel international airport.

Jinping was welcomed by Gujarat Governor, Chief Minister, city Mayor, Home Secretary Nanda, CM officer’s Srinivas among others. Two lightly decorated Tarnetar Umbrellas were seen emerging from small crowd close to Jinping.

Xi Jinping was given the guard of honor by women police. Various cultural performances from across the Gujarat and bagpiper band from Maninagar Swaminarayan Gaadi were also seen welcoming Xi Jinping at the airport.

Entire ministry of Gujarat was present to welcome Chinese President. Women in Gujarati traditional Chaniya choli dress were also there to welcome the Chinese president.

The Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping was accorded a grand, traditional Indian welcome by the Gujarat’s Governor Mr. O. P. Kohli and Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel on his arrival at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad on his short visit to the state, this afternoon.

Later, the Chinese Premier was also given warm welcome by Gujarat Government’s Protocol Minister Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, Ahmedabad city Mayor Smt. Minaxi Patel, Gujarat’s Chief Secretary Dr. Varesh Sinha, and other senior secretaries and officials.

Then, Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Le Yuchcng had given introduction of every present dignitaries to Mr. Xi Jinping. After that the Chinese President was also given Guard of Honour at the Airport.

Then, the Chinese Premier was given a grand welcome with traditional Indian folk dances and music by the folk artists at the Airport.
