A group of Shiv Sena workers led by Ashok Sharma today met Mayor of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) and demanded that the name of Ahmedabad’s name should be changed to Karnavati. In reaction to this demand, Mayor of Ahmedabad Minakshi Patel told media persons that she would take this issue to coordination committee for consultation and decision.

It should be mentioned that senior BJP leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy has also demanded Ahmedabad to be renamed as Karnavati. He has made this demand before the Prime Minister.
