Next Jammu & Kashmir CM will be from BJP: Amit Shah

Jammu, 20 November 2014

BJP president Amit Shah Thursday said the next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from his party.

Addressing public meetings in Banihal and Ramban assembly constituencies in Jammu region, he said: “BJP’s 44-plus election agenda for the state will be realised during the assembly polls. The next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from our party.”

He criticised the over 60-year dynastic rule of the Congress, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir owed all its ills to this dynastic rule.

“We are committed to end this dynastic rule so that an era of progress and development is ushered in the state,” he said.

In his speech, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president steered clear of the controversy over article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Banihal and Ramban assembly constituencies will go to polls Nov 25 in the first round of the five-phased assembly polls.
