Gandhinagar, 2 December 2014
BJP MLA from Rajula, Hirabhai Solanki today met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel with core-committee members of Koli Sena, an organization that he heads.
Solanki seeks more representation of Koli community in government and state party organization. Hirabhai claims Koli community forms 24% population of Gujarat, and 80% of community members have voted for BJP.
Hirabhai who earlier met state BJP general secretary and cabinet minister Vijaybhai Rupani on this issue, today met Chief Minister and said he and his community members were happy with CM’s response.
Hirabhai said, “CM saheb heard us silently for half an hour. She heard our samaj for half an hour. And she said ‘shanti rakho’ (keep calm). We are satisfied and our core-committee members are also satisfied. We are happy.”
Though Hirabhai claims he is raising voice on behalf of his community, many in his own community believe that this is individual fight of Hirabhai and his supporters as he has not been included in recent expansion of Anandiben cabinet. None of the MLAs, MPs or prominent persons from Koli community joined Hirabhai in recently held sammelan at Bagodara by him.
