Railway Ministry to sign MoU with Gujarat to upgrade Sabarmati, Surat stations

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu during a meeting with Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today said that Indian Railways will sign Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with Gujarat government during Vibrant Gujarat summit 2015 on modernization and upgradation of Ahmedabad and Surat railway stations.

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel during her Delhi visit today met four union ministers.

In her talk with Railway Minister, she shared details on progress of Ahmedabad Metro Rail project. She made representation on the need to upgrade and modernize Sabarmati(Ahmedabad) and Surat railway stations in Gujarat.

In response to this, Railway Minister informed her that Indian Railways would sign MoU with Gujarat government during the Vibrant Gujarat summit next month.

Railway Minister also proposed formation of centre-state joint task force committee for quick resolution of important issues that are pending and awaiting solution.

Gujarat CM also demanded that rake points canceled by the central government should be approved again for the benefit of farmers.
