Bharuch police nabs Pappu Khokhar

Bharuch police got major success by arresting notorious Pappu Ibrahim Khokhar in Hansot. About 200 police men led by district police chief nabbed Khokhar from his home in early morning operation. Khokhar who is involved in number of crimes, was hiding from police for last few days. He is local panchayat member, while his wife Jamilaben Khokhar is Sarpanch of Hansot gram panchayat. After his arrest, Police has sent Khokhar to Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad under PASA.
In another related development, one Vinod Maganbhai Patel from Sajod village was allegedly attacked in his shop in Hansot by Pappu Khokhar’s son Sajju Khokhar and three others with sword, hockey, stick and knife. Complainant claims that he was threatened him that people from Sajod village must not come to Hansot to do business. Vinod Patel was however rescued by neighboring shop keepers Raju Prajapati and Prakash Valand. Hansot police has filed complaint in this regard.
In another development, Hansot based Ilyash Nisar Sheikh filed complaint against 13 prominent Hindus of taluka for damaging a cabin which belongs to a Muslim.
Bharuch district is witnessing communal tension for last few week following a Whatsapp message that hurt sentiments of a few Muslims. A large group of Muslims held rally in Bharuch shouting slogans of ‘Allah Akbar’ in Hindu locality a few days back to protest Whatsapp message. Due to rumors spreading fast on mobile phones through messages and applications, police had put ban on internet service for a day.
