Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat

Gujarat Congress president Arjun Modhwadia today in a statement issued here demanded probe by neutral agency into allegations of Rs. 17 lakh bribe taken by former BJP MLA(Jasdan) Dr. Dr. Bharat Boghra.

Yesterday one CM Pandya who is into agriculture green house business went to Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) office in Ahmedabad and submitted audio tape, SMS record and other documents to support his application against former BJP MLA of Jasdan Bharat Boghra.

According to complainant Chandrak Pandya who lives in Ghuma area of Ahmedabad, his company was not empaneled for green house project of Gujarat government. During his visits to state secretariat in Gandhinagar, he came into contact with former BJP MLA Bharat Boghra in Gandhinagar secretariat. Boghra promised empaneled status and demanded Rs. 40 lakh commission which was too much, and therefore after some bargain a deal was fixed at Rs. 14 lakh, of which Rs. 7.50 amount was to be paid in advance. One day Boghra asked for immediate transfer of further Rs. 3 lakh in his HDFC account. He thus took in-total Rs. 18 lakh, but Pandya’s application was still not approved. When Pandya demanded his money back, he was returned only Rs. 1 lakh and promised that rest of amount will be paid in a few months.

Pandya alleges that Boghra took him to Krushi Bhawan office to convince that his work is in progress.

According to Pandya’s application before ACB, the green house project was worth Rs. 114 crore. Boghra was to be made 15% partner.

Boghra was winner in Jasdan assembly by-poll in year 2009 after then MLA Kunvarjibhai Bavalia vacated the seat after his election to Lok Sabha. Boghra was Kunvarjibhai’s personal assistant at that time. Boghra was first BJP candidate to win Koli community dominated Jasdan assembly seat in history of Gujarat. Boghra however failed to win Jasdan seat in year 2012 general elections.

Telephone call transcript of Boghra’s conversation with Pandya is now in public domain as it has been published in newspapers and also relayed on local news channels.
