‘Kem chho’ everywhere, in speeches and in interactions on first day of Vibrant Summit

Throughout the first day of Vibrant Gujarat summit, Gujarati word ‘Kem chho’ continued to rule inside Mahatma Mandir, a venue of summit.

In inaugural function in the morning, Simon Smits Vice Minister of Netherlands greeted the delegated by saying ‘Kem hho Gujarati bhaio ane behno'(how are you Gujarati brothers and sisters). He also spoke in detail about relations of Netherlands and Gujarat in past centuries.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon started his speech with Gujarati note. He said ‘Khem chho Gujarat vasiyo, tamne mailne anand thayo'(how are you people of Gujarat, it’s pleasure to meet you). Ban Ki Moon described the land of Gujarat as the land of Mahatma Gandhi.

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim in his speech said that he couldn’t pass up opportunity to visit Prime Minister’s home town. He said, “in Korean culture, we take it very seriously when a friend invites to visit hometown.”

US, Secretary of State John Kerry in his speech mentioned that Nisha Biswal one of the important members in his team belongs to Gujarat. He pointed out that she took birth here in Gujarat.

British Minister Lord Livingston in his speech said that Britain will soon open its mission in Gujarat. He said this would be the first diplomatic mission in Gujarat opened by any country.

Bhutan Prime Minister was emotional talking about his Varanasi and Gujarat visits.

Prime Minister himself in his speech admired hospitality of people of Gujarat.

Kumar Mangalam Birla in his speech described self as a happy investor in Gujarat and said he has personal bias towards Gujarat.

Shri Mukesh Ambani said Reliance has been inseparable part of Gujarat success story. He said we are proud to be a Gujarati company.He described Gujarat as his home and home state.

The summit inauguration took place after a song ‘Jay Jay Garvi Gujarat’ and Ganesh stuti.

Not just in speeches, but even in session, foreign and Indian dignitaries were seen welcoming each other with a note of ‘Kem chho’.
