Gujarat CM announces development works worth Rs.100-crore for Devbhoomi-Dwarka district

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today assured the people of Gujarat that she would repay the confidence reposed on her by six-crore people of the state and that she would not do anything to belittle the state.

Addressing a state-level women’s conference at the newly created district of Devbhoomi-Dwarka on the eve of 66th Republic Day, she expressed her happiness at Gujarat leading in carrying forward the government’s innovative schemes for women’s empowerment, notably
‘Beti Bachao; Beti Padhao’ taking everybody along to ‘Save Girl’ and ‘Educate Girl’.

She exhorted the womenfolk to work collectively to rise up to Prime Minister’s mantra to implement the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ for a Clean India. She asked them to develop Gujarat to greater heights and set new benchmarks of development for India. She stressed on the need to provide nutritious food to build healthy children, necessary for a healthy nation.

The Chief Minister announced development works worth Rs.100-crore for the newly created district. They include Government Arts College at Kalyanpur, ITI, Mamlatdar Office and Model School Buildings, underground sewer for Okha Nagarpalika and machines to produce wick for lamps at Dwarka and Salaya.

She complimented the people of the new district to for hosting the state-level Republic Day function at the Land of Lord Krishna.

The Chief Minister handed over Rs.25,000 cheque to Ayub Bandari, the winner of boat race organised on the occasion of the Republic Day. She and other guests handed over assistance to beneficiaries of Mission Mangalam, Animal Husbandry, Jan Dhan, Ma-Vatsalya, Sardar Awas Yojna, etc.

Agriculture Minister Babubhai Bokhiriya, Minister of State for Women and Children Vasuben Trivedi, Sardar Patel Sahbhagi Irrigation Scheme Chairman Meghji Kanjharia, MP Poonamben Madam and MLA Pabubha Manek also spoke on the occasion.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Gujarat Grih Nirman Board Chairman Mulubhai Bera, MLA Chiman Thapariya, District Panchayat Presidents of Dwarka and Jamnagar Chandrasinh Manek and P.B. Vasoya, Women & Child Welfare Commissioner and Principal Secretary Anuradha Mall, Information Commissioner and Youth Service and Cultural Activities Secretary Bhagyesh Jha, Incharge Secretary Kamal Dayani, District Collector S.K. Pandya, DDO R.J. Mankadiya, among others.
