Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ‘chair’ at M S University constituted

Maharaja Sayajirao University here constituted a ‘chair’ under the name of eminent political thinker and leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhayay at Institute of Policy Research and International Studies, Faculty of Arts.

Under the ‘chair’, a distinguished guest will deliver a lecture each year, to be organised at the Institute of Policy Research and International Studies. The decision was taken in a meeting by the Syndicate of the University yesterday, Registrar, Amit Dholakia said in a statement today.

M S University is second institute to establish Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ‘chair’.

Earlier, in September last year, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced to establish Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ‘Chair’ at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal.

The Syndicate also passed a resolution congratulating scientist Vijay Bhatkar and writer Gunvant Shah who will be awarded the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, respectively this year, both alumnus of the varsity.

Dr K S Agrawal was re-appointed as the President of the University Union for a term of one year, it said.
