Gujarat Chief Minister today opened the first edition of Polo Utsav in Sabarkantha district of north Gujarat and made an announcement that Polo Utsav will be celebrated regularly every year in Diwali vacation season. She said the wonderful natural and historical heritage of Polo in Aravalli hills will be positioned as global tourist destination, and that is the purpose to hold Polo Utsav.

Tent City, cycling, tracking and adventure sports are some of the highlights of Polo Utsav.

Chief Minister said that tribal artists of this belt will get opportunity to sell their products to tourists through Polo Utsav.

In a function held at Abhapur to mark inauguration of Polo Utsav, the Chief Minister distributed bicycles, beauty parlor kits, camera kits, forest right papers and dedicated district’s first model anganwadi(kindergarten school).

Chief Minister also launched a video DVD showcasing Polo forest’s rich historical, archaeological and natural heritage. She opened a handicraft fair that offers items made by Sakhi mandals.
