Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his budget speech today said that Gujarat International Financial Finance Tec City(GIFT) will become reality and appropriate regulations will be issued in the month of March.
“While India produces finest minds including in international finance, they have very few avenues in India to fully exploit and exhibit their to the country’s advantage,” Finance Minister said while presenting budget.
“GIFT in Gujarat was envisaged as an international financial centre that would actually become as good an international centre as Singapore or Dubai which incidentally are largely manned by Indians,” he further said.
“The proposal has languished for years. I am glad to announce that the first phase of GIFT will now become reality. Appropriate regulations will be issued in the month of March,” Finance Minister said.
