–Polo forests in north Gujarat hosted a Cycle Carnival today which was participated by dozens of bicycle enthusiasts. Polo near Idar is one of Gujarat’s best protected jungles. District administration has started promoting Polo for last two years with cycling and camping events. Chief Minister had last month while opening the festival declared that Polo festival will be held every year during Diwali vacation.
–Appointed: Gujarat Prant RSS new Sanghchalak Shri Mukesh Malkan. Prant Sah Karyavah Shri Kishor Mungalpara and Shri Shailesh Patel.
–Mirzapur court in Ahmedabad grants bail to 12 NGO workers arrested for holding illegal liquor party. 8 of them are foreigners. 4 are women.
–Police in Ahmedabad has identified tanker operator Jagdish Patel and tanker driver/cleaner Kanji and Gova Rabari as culprit in acid dumping case. Jagdish Patel used to take acidic discharge in his tanker and his men Rabaris used to drive it and dump acidic waste in some gutter late in the night. In two different incident, six persons have been dead in Ahmedabad since 2013. In recent incident two girls and mother died sleeping at their home due to acidic gas released from their gutter suddenly in the night. Rabaris and Patel are not arrested yet. Police is searching for them.
–Small town Dhari in Saurashtra region today got a new State Transport Bus station.
–Gujarat government is organizing two days long Khodiar utsav in Bhavnagar district. Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama,District Collector Banchhanidhi Pani were among those attending the event today.
–Gujarat Chief Minister today felicitated Dr. Tejas Patel whose name has been recently declared for Padmashri award. The function was organized by Adani Foundation. It was attended by Gautam and Priti Adani among others. Dr. Tejas Patel is heart surgeon practicing in private hospital in Ahmedabad.
Gujarat government has organized two days Chotila Utsav in which folk Bhajan singer Hemant Chauhan gave performance.
