Not NHAI, but Gujarat govt to develop Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway

Not National Highway Authority of India(NHAI), but the Gujarat government will execute the six laning project of Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway.

The centre has also handed over Detail Project Report(DPR) of this project to state government.

This detail was shared by Shri Pon. RadhaKrishnan, Minister of Road, Transport and Highways in Rajya Sabha in reply to a question asked by Gujarat MP Pravin Rashtrapal.

In his reply, the minister said: The issue regarding Six laning of Ahmedabad-Bamanbore Section of NH-8A was discussed in the meeting held between Minster RTH & S and Minister (R&B), Government of Gujarat (GoG ) on 27.01.2015 in the Ministry.

During the Meeting , it was decided that 6-laning of Ahmedabad-Bamanbore Section of NH-8A & Bamanbore-Rajkot of NH-8B will be implemented by the State Government and DPR of 6 laning for the stretches be handed over to State R&B Department, Government of Gujarat by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for further necessary action.

Accordingly, the decision has been conveyed to the Government of Gujarat and NHAI on 03.03.2015.
