‘Sadakal Gujarat 2015’ begins with a bang in Jaipur

‘Sadakal Gujarat 2015’, an exhibition and conference was organized today at Birla Auditorium Jaipur by the Non Resident Gujarati Foundation, Government of Gujarat in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The event saw a huge turnout with people from the NRG community, Gujarati Samaj, cultural groups, government officials, art lovers, students, academia, business community, music lovers etc attending this event.

The objective of this two day event was to connect to the Non Residential Gujaratis (NRGs) bring them closer to their roots and keep the Gujarati culture and tradition alive in the hearts of NRGs and also showcase similarities and healthy bonding of people from Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The exhibition, being held as a part of the event, showcases industrial progress made by state; progress of the financial sector; state’s emergence as a hub for medical tourism; rich culture of Gujarat; handicrafts and handlooms products manufactured in Gujarat; tourist spots of the state; art, music & paintings and so on.

Various cultural programs held in the evening on the first day turned out to be a major attraction for the attendees. These include Ganesh Vandana by Ulpa Desai and Group, Baroda; Comedy performance by Shri Jadgish Trivedi; Prachin Garbo by Pandhat Group, Gandhinagar; Dangi Nrutya by Sivaji Bhoye and Group, Dang Dist.; Maniyaro Raas by Lakhanbhai Ahir and Group, Porbandhar; Tipani by Pandhat Group, Gandhinagar; Sidi Dhamal by Sidi Group, Bharuch and Grand Finale with all groups performing together.

The conference on the second day will discuss & debate various subjects such as Opportunities in Financial Sector in Gujarat; History & Inclusive Growth of Gujarat (Equitable development, Geographical, Economic and Social); Entrepreneurship Spirit of Gujarati& Women Empowerment; Opportunities in Tourism in Gujarat (General, Wildlife, Pilgrimage); Opportunities in Medical Tourism & Gujarati Culture & Literature – The Way Forward.

The inaugural function of the event was presided over by Shri Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Minister, Non-resident Gujaratis Division, Government of Gujarat, in the presence of Shri Gajendra Singh, Minister, Industries, NRI, State Enterprises Department, DMIC, Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Rajasthan; Shri Suresh Poddar, Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council & Chief Managing Director, Mayur Uniquoters Ltd; Shri S B Raval, IAS, Secretary (NRI & ARTD), General Administration Department, Gujarat and Shri M R Varsani, Director, NRG Foundation, Government of Gujarat.

Delivering the key-note address at the inaugural function, Minister, Shri Jadeja said that the Gujarati community living outside Gujarat – within India and abroad have contributed a lot in the development of Gujarat and the country at large. While expressing gratitude for the generous contribution of the NRG Community he sought their cooperation & support in all future endeavors.
