Gujarat PSUs to start modern schools as CSR activity

Gujarat’s Government has asked it’s all the Public Sector Units(PSUs) to start modern schools matching education quality with top private schools in the backward areas of the state.
The state education department has written to the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE) and all the department heads to instruct the PSUs under them to start modern school as their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR).
For the current year top ten PSUs like GSPC, GMDC, GIDC, GSFC, GUVNL and others have been asked to start process of at least two schools either in the backward region or in the area of their working.
The state education department will give land if the PSU do not have land. The State Education department has also formed a new scheme also to promote modern schools by the PSUs and private companies in the backward region. It is also taking help of newly formed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) authority.
