Gujarat CM launches mega campaign against malnutrition

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today launched a mega campaign against malnutrition at Chhotaudepur. She exuded confident to abolish malnutrition from the state and become a model for other states.

Under this campaign all the children admitted in Anganwadi will be tasted. The CM appealed all Anganwadi workers to ensure every child gets benefit of this scheme and not a single child left malnourished in the state.

At the launch function of this scheme she said, “It is our collective responsibility to make sure that each and every child of the state gets good nourishment and mentally and physically becomes strong. Malnourished child mentally suffers a lot and can not compete with the other children of his age.”

Mrs. Patel expressed happiness for providing emergency services to more than 15000 pregnant women by 108 emergency service under “Chiranjivi Yojana“ across the state. CM also appealed pregnant women to take the benefit Rs.6000 for medical treatment.

She expressed concern over increased Incidence of diseases like diabetes, breast cancer and womb cancer. She said, “Diabetes affects a person a lot and it can permanently disable parts of body. It is necessary to identify diabetes early and start a treatment.”

Mrs. Patel praised 25,000 doctors, NGO’s and UNICEF for giving support to state government and continue to do so in making next generation mentally and physically healthy. She appealed people to take benefit of Central Government’s “Jandhan yojana”, “Pradhanmantri jivanjyoti yojana” and “Atal Pension yojana.”

At this function women and child development minister of Vasuben Trivedi remained present. In her speech she praised Mrs Anandiben Patel’s work. She said “Under the leadership of CM Gujarat has seen a massive development in all sectors. This is a moment started from Chhotaudepur will spread across the state.

She also inaugurated Bodeli taluka Panchayat, Naswadi Police station, five sub health centers and Government Commerce College at Kwat.

In this function Chief Secretary of state Mr. D.J.Pandiyan, Director of NRHM Dr.Vinod Rao and Ms Anuradha Mal remained present. In addition MLA Mr. Dinubhai Patel, Mr. Shabdhsharan Brahmbhatt, chairman of Chhota Udaipur jilla panchayat, district collector and other dignitaries and remained present.
