A river bridge connecting Kheda and Dholka to be opened tomorrow

A river bridge connecting two districts Kheda and Ahmedabad will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister on Friday near Dholka.

The bridge is located at venue of famous Vautha fair over river Sabarmati. It is popularly called Vautha-Palla bridge. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs 43.42 crore in two years period. Foundation stone for its construction was laid by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi just ahead of the general elections of Gujarat assembly in year 2012.

The new bridge will open new horizons of prosperity for 3.10 lakh population of 106 villages in Dholka town/taluka and Kheda taluka.

A 45 meter long bridge will cut road distance between Dholka and Kheda sides of river by 49 kms. Thousands of farmers of Dholka and Kheda taluka will be benefited with this new bridge as it will connect them easily to Dholka and Bavla APMC.

According to Dholka APMC Chairman Merubhai Bharwad the revenue of market yard will go up from Rs 54.43 crore at present to Rs 70-80 core with construction of new bridge due to more arrival of produce from other side of the river.

With this bridge, the distance from Dholka and Asamali, Palla, Baroda, Nadhanpur, Khareti, Kalodara, Limbasi, Vastana in Matar and Tarapur talukas will be shorter by 50 kms.

Vautha fair will attract more visitors from Kheda side due to this bridge with additional income of Rs 8-10 lakh due to this bridge. According to Dholka GIDC Association Secretary Shri Kiran Patel, the GIDC will get skilled labourer and youths from Kheda, Matar taluka.
