Torrent Power Launches first-of-its-kind Mobile App

Ahmedabad

Torrent Power Limited (TPL), the electricity supplier to over 2.9 million customers in three cities of Gujarat (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Surat) and Bhiwandi in Maharashtra along with historic city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh, today announced the launch of its brand new mobile App ‘Torrent Power Connect’.

The first-of-its-kind App, available on both the iOS and Google Play Stores, is an extension to Torrent’s existing self-service portal connect.torrentpower.com which was launched earlier this year. Harnessing the power of the smartphone penetration across the country, TPL has enabled customers to gain direct access to its ‘No Power Response Team’ from the App, through which customers can register power supply related complaints without having to reach Torrent’s call centre. Moreover, the App also incorporates various other convenience features such as instant bill payments, personalized dashboard, real time service notifications and GPS tracking of customer centers and mobile vans, the official spokesperson of the company said.

Additionally, TPL has also tied up with various new online payment platforms through which it would be offering attractive discount schemes to encourage a transition from physical to online transactions for energy bill payments. With the launch of the Connect App and portal, Torrent Power has become the first utility in the country that has completely digitized its entire range of service offerings. While the App carries the instant service related features such as ‘No Power Complaint Registration’, the web portal hosts all its application processing services. Both platforms put together obviate the need for physical interactions with the utility and provide a seamless online experience through a common user account.

The new streamlined interaction interfaces reinforce Torrent’s commitment to deliver high-quality service to its customers, he said.

Torrent Power Limited is part of the Torrent Group and is one of the leading brands in the Indian power sector. It has a generation capacity of 3253 MW and distributes over 14 billion units of power annually to Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Dahej, Bhiwandi and Agra.
