Army moved for flood relief in north Gujarat

Ahmedabad

Indian Army today said two Army Columns, one ETF and 2 medical teams are moved to Banaskantha District in north Gujarat for flood relief efforts.

One army column consists of 75 to 100 troops.

ETF means Engineer Task Force. During calamities ETF primarily clears and constructs tracks in difficult and inaccessible areas to facilitate the relief work.

Indian Air Force(IAF) has already deployed helicopters for rescue task, however bad weather has not allowed IAF to do enough.

Fire brigade teams of Ahmedabad and Vadodara Municipal Corporations and NDRF teams including the teams moved from Pune by central government are already involved in rescue and relief operations.
