Chief Secretary GR Aloria’s briefing:

Our first priority is to restore power to sources of water. Our of 39, around 27 headwords have started getting power. There’s problem at another 12.

Telecommunication will restore by tonight. Private and BSNL telecom operator will be able to shift calls.

Out of 3,000 only 1,000 bus trips are functional at present. By today evening we expect to operate 70% trips.

4 columns of Army, 3 companies of SRP, 180 jawans of BSF are there. State, centre, district administrations are in coordination to normalize the situation by tomorrow evening.

Road restoration works are on. Till now 3,500 deaths of cattle are reported. Procedures are on for removal of their bodies by teams. Survey of damage to rationing food items is going on. We will replace ration items. 500 teams are formed for cash-doll distribution.


Minister of state and local MLA Shankarbhai Chaudhary’s briefing:

Today entire administration of state government which includes the department heads led by Chief Secretary was here. Micro level planning has done to see what can we do through various departments. We take this as mission. Rescue work has been almost completed. Food packet distribution is going on in wide scale. Tomorrow cash dole distribution wills tart. Power restoration, drinking water supply, health related tasks, road connectivity, disposal of dead animals are the tasks that are being done through various department right upto village level.

Villages that lack road connectivity are reached through NDRF team and helicopters. 5 helicopters are in action to dump food packets. Our efforts are speeding up now and rain has stopped. I believe Banaskantha will rise again.
