Saurabh Patel dedicates first PNG connection in Bhavnagar

Energy minister Saurabh Patel today lit a gas stove in Bhavnagar and dedicated piped gas supply for cooking purpose in this city.

Giving credit of this achievement to then Chief Minister Narendra Modi and present Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, minister Saurabh Patel on this occasion said that Gujarat has become leading state in the area of house gas supply with over 14 lakh PNG connections, which is more than 50% of all PNG users across the country.

He said environment friendly PNG connections will give freedom to consumers from LPG bottles and will also save subsidy money on government part.

He said, “in next five years, Bhavnagar will get an expanded gas network covering 8,153 sq km area availing piped supply of PNG to 4.90 families. Areas such as Botad, Sihor, Palitana, Mahuva, Gariadhar, Talaja and Ghogha will also be covered in this network.”

He said, “Gujarat gas ltd has become India’s largest urban gas distribution company supplying gas to over 10.27 lakh houses across 19 districts of Gujarat through pipeline and also to more than 1.5 lakh CNG vehicles through 235 CNG stations.”
