Agitating Patidars on social media

Rupang Bhatt, Ahmedabad

Presented below is just a small set of samples of messages/posts being circulated by agitating Patidar community youths on social media.

Such numerous messages in circulation these days suggest that these people think there’s Bhagwan up in the sky and we on the earth are just next to Bhagwan in hierarchy when it comes to the land of Gujarat.

The comments and hate messages on social media threads against those questioning or contradicting the agitation are not worth publishing here.

A Padma award winner gentleman from community and top social worker called Mathurbhai Sawani who questioned the agitation was burnt in effigy in Amreli.

Photo of another gentleman from the community Mr. Pravin Gajera who questioned the path the agitators have taken was put on banner and tied on couple of donkeys. The donkeys were in presence of media made run in busy street of Surat city from which Mr Gajera belongs to.

As per a Gujarati newspaper report, an audio clip in circulation suggests next set of activities to make the agitation stronger. The activities suggested include burning of buses, road blocks and violence.

Scuffle between Thakors and Patels yesterday in a village in north Gujarat has added worries for common peace loving man.

The leader of ongoing agitation, as per his twitter account was ardent fan of an ‘anarchist’ run Aam Aadmi Party during year 2012 general elections.

In today’s press conference, the leader of ongoing Patidar agitation was suggesting change in constitution and Supreme court orders in order to place Patidars in Other Backward Class(OBC) category.

He gives example of Shahid Bhagat Singh in his speeches to pass a hint that violent agitation could be next thing in line.

He asks government not to levy toll tax from Patidars.

Use of AAP like topis, riding bikes without helmets and chanting Jay Sardar(Sardar Patel), sticks in hand and stopping BRTS buses …. This are some of the highlights of this agitation. And it shows the reason why common people fear whether peace and stability in Gujarat will be in danger due to rogue elements within or outside the agitation!
