Gujarat CM opens new district Seva Sadan at Botad; 29 Seva Sadans opened so far

In an extraordinary initiative, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today said that Gujarat is one of the first states in the country to review and simplify the age-old Tenancy Act to handover the titles to the original owners.

She said the state government has exempted the farm assistance amounts, providing justice to the title holders. The Act needed change owing to certain ambiguous clauses concerning the Revenue Department that led to check misinterpretation of the law causing sufferings to the people. She handed over the papers through transparency, and released a booklet on Botad, titled ‘Vikas Vatika’.

Speaking at a function to mark inauguration of the Seva Sadan built at a cost of Rs.28.35-crore for the Botad district town; she said that as part of the government’s move to provide single window facility to simplify the administrative procedures 29 Seva Sadans have been opened at the district and taluka towns so far.

The Chief Minister listed other steps undertaken by the government for the people’s welfare like medical checkup of 45-lakh children in the state and subsequent treatment of severely malnourished children and cleft lips, similarly women suffering from breast and cervical cancer free-of-cost, taking Narmada canal waters far and wide.

Energy Minister Saurabh Patel said that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was the Chief Minister in 2012 who carved out Botad as the new district. He said that as per the plan, offices of 18 departments have been housed at the Seva Sadan. He said that new hospitals and educational institutions will also be built soon at Botad.

Gujarat Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Atmaram Parmar delivered the welcome address. MLAs T.D. Maliya and Laljibhai Mer also spoke.

Those present on the occasion included MPs Devjibhai Fatepara and Bhartiben Shiyal, District Panchayat President Meenaben Ranpura, Principal Secretary for Revenue K. Shrinivasan, District In-charge Secretary P.K. Parmar, District Collector S.K. Pandya, DDO P.B. Thakar and Agro Industries Chairman Babubhai Zebaliya.
