CM has sought 10 days time to resolve the issues we raised: Hardik Patel

Gandhinagar

After three hours long meeting between Chief Minister, senior ministers and top BJP leaders, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) leader Hardik Patel told media persons late in the evening on Monday that government sought 10 days time to resolve the issues PAAS conveners raised in the meeting today. PAAS will continue its agitation till the time issues are resolved he added.

He further said that instead of reverse Dandi yatra, he would organize Ekta Yatra on September 19 with 78 Patidars. He said government will bear the cost of treatment of those who are injured during violence of 25/26 August. Hardik said the meeting has not brought result but it could not be considered a flop or even successful.

He said one of the point raised by Patidar Samiti was about giving free treatment to those injured during 25/26 August violence in government hospitals. This suggestion was accepted in the meeting itself.

“Instead of Dandi yatra we will hold Ekta yatra on Saturday. The yatra will have 78 people from Dandi. It will be a non-violent march. In next two weeks we will hold five big gathering and if government responds positively in ten days, we will think about next set of programmes. Our today’s meeting was only about police atrocities. If this issue is resolved, we will speak on reservation. Economic package was not part of discussion. If they want to announce, they can do that and it will be accepted by people if they find it good. Chief Minister Anandiben, Health Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Saurabh Patel among others were present in this meeting. Chief Minister said she will look into the issues in next 10 days and will resolve them. We said we will cooperate the government till then. Government asked us about reservation issue, but we wanted to discuss only police related issues as mandated by our 144 conveners. Though our first decision was to take all 144 convenors to meeting with CM, the conveners themselves expressed faith and asked us to go and meet the CM in small group,” Hardik said.

Hardik described the issues he, Lalji Patel and others raised in the meeting. Release of youths arrested for Patidar violence, no fresh arrests, correction of “wrong” reports issued by doctors for police procedure were some of the issues that were raised.
