Samsung introduces Galaxy J2 in Gujarat, keeping entry level 4G users in focus

Samsung India Electronics today announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy J2 in Ahmedabad before the media at Hyatt Regency hotel here.

Mr. Manu Sharma, Director – Mobile business, Samsung India shared mainly following details:

Galaxy J2 will be available from 21 September in market.

Galaxy J2 will be an entry level 4G phone with price at Rs 8,490.

Galaxy J2 has ultra data saving feature consisting ‘data compression’ and ‘restrict background data’ facilities. This feature will avail upto 50% data saving. It contribute to 11% free RAM and upto 2x standby time.

Ultra data saving feature will compress streaming videos and save 50% data usage. While using news app this saving will be upto 40%, while during normal browsing, the saving of data will be upto 30%. While accessing shopping sites, the data saving will be upto 40%.

Galaxy J2 has also ‘download booster’ facility which offers combination of speed available at wifi and 4G network both at the same time for increased speed of download. Suppose if wifi speed is 8 mbps and 4G sped is 10 mbps, and both are available at the same time, the download speed will be 10 mbps with combination of both.

New Galaxy J2 has been developed in Samsung’s Indian R&D facilities. It has 4.7 inch qHD super amoled screen, a 1.3 GHz Quad core processor, 5 mp rear camera with LED flash, 2 mp front camera1 GB RAM

Samsung expects 4G roll out across 1,000 cities in India in first half of next year. Speed available in 4G connection is 10 times more compared to 3G.

According to Sharma, there are 70 crore mobile users in India, of them 16 crore(22% of total) use smart phones. India is world’s 3rd largest market for smart phone. There are total 30 crore people in India who use internet. Of them 25 crore use internet through mobile phone. For them mobile phone is first medium to connect to internet.
