Stop pushing Gujarat back to pre-2001 period of unrest: Anandiben

Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today reiterated the Gujarat Government’s commitment to ensure not a single youth faced injustice in the state’s unprecedented march to development since 2001.

However, Mrs. Patel warned the vested interests not to push to the State back to pre-2001 period of unrest, disturbance and instability. The law enforcers would take firm legal actions against such elements, she said.

Inaugurating the Domestic Cattle Breeding Centre at a huge milkmaids’ rally in the Singhvay Farm in Mandvi Taluka in Surat district, she said the government with the help of the people has built a strong foundation for Resurgence of Gujarat, attracting world attention. She said the new generation might have no idea of the damage done to state’s development during those years, but the government in collaboration with the people would uphold the state’s image and develop.

She sought ‘sauna saath for sauna vikas’ and asked the youth to take opportunities by providing higher education at 55 universities and skill development centres to make youth employable.

The Chief Minister said the Cattle Breeding Centre is being developed on a 900-acre land handed over to Sumul Dairy. A veterinary college is proposed to be set up here soon. She asked the people of south Gujarat region to take advantage of the centres like this and take the White Revolution to the next level.

Speaking on the occasion, she described Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestation, Industry and Service Sectors as the Five Pillars for Development, alongside Education and Healthcare providing the bulk of jobs. She said the government’s stress on cattle rearing is the best initiative to raise women, engaged in cattle rearing, above the poverty level.

Gujarat Assembly Speaker Ganpat Vasava hoped this centre set up at Sadhvav in Mandvi taluka, situated in the state’s tribal belt, would usher in fresh White Revolution in the region.

Finance Minister and District In-charge Minister Saurabh Patel said the State Government has been running 593 welfare schemes. The state has a glorious record of providing unprecedented facilities particularly after 2002, not done in the previous 42 years after the foundation of the Gujarat State.

Sumul Dairy Chairman Rajeshbhai Pathak said that 2,33,000 members of the dairy are covered under accident insurance. He thanked the government for the land.
