New Paryatan Bhawan to be named after Deen Dayal Upadhyay

The proposed new Tourism Ministry building is to be named after Jan Sangh icon Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.

Ministry, which is functioning from Transport Bhawan, will soon have its own headquarters in the capital as the government will lay the foundation stone for the Paryatan Bhawan at Mandir Marg on Septemeber 27, World Tourism Day.

According to a senior Ministry official, “The building will be known as Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Paryatan Bhawan. The foundation stone will be laid for the same on the the World Tourism Day.”

Paryatan Bhawan will be constructed near the Birla Temple on a 9 acre land and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will lay the foundation stone for the building as part of the celebration on World Tourism Day, the official added.

NDMC will construct the new building at an estimated cost of Rs 90 crore, said the official.

The new Bhawan will be a green building with all modern amenities and adequate parking facilities.

The ministry is celebrating World Tourism Day (WTD) with a theme of “One billion tourists one billion opportunities” across the country.

All states and UTs have been told by the ministry to celebrate the WTD involving youth and students to create awareness among this segment of society about the importance of tourism as an engine of economic growth that holds billion opportunities for the youth.
