Patidars to use Rajkot ODI to propagate their agitation

Rajkot
Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) is preparing a strategy to buy bulk tickets of the 3 rd ODI between South Africa and India in Rajkot on October 18 to use the occasion for propagation of their ongoing pro-reservation agitation.
A large number of government officials, ministers and even the Chief Minister is also likely to be present during the match.
Patidar community members and supporters led by Hardik Patel would purchase a large number of tickets and demonstrate in favour of their demand with pro-reservation caps, T Shirts and Banners during the match.
Media Manager of the Saurashtra Cricket Association Mr. Himanshu Shah today said that the sale of tickets for the match would begin from October 12. Online booking of tickets is already on.
On being asked about the PAAS strategy and any possible preventive measures from the association to foil the bid, Mr. Shah said,’ we can’t stop any one from entering the venue if he is having ticket. The police will be there to check whether anyone is carrying anything objectionable with him or not. Maintaining the order would be police’s responsibility,’ he said.
The likelihood of the presence of top line of the state government and the PAAS supporters along with Hardik in the stadium is being seen as an interesting possible off-the-field battle while the real match will be played on the turf.
