Ahmedabad

According to the details coming out from the Crime Branch investigation through various print and TV reports, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) leader Hardik Patel is being probed for misuse of fund that he received from Patel community so that his organization could help those Patel youths killed in the course of quota agitation.

ACP, Crime Branch Rahul Patel told media persons that there’s huge gap between the fund received by Hardik and fund spent for the cause. Hardik had no major source of income, and therefore some of his personal spendings are under scanner.

One of the details under investigation is that Hardik used Rs 8 lakh fund received from the community for families of those killed in Patidar agitation to repair his own house in Viramgam.

A Gujarati news channel crew claimed they visited Hardik’s house in Viramgam to shoot the renovation work, but Hardik’s mother denied permission for shooting and also refused to reply the questions pertaining to renovation work.

It is believed that the Crime Branch team has also recorded the statement of contractor who works at this renovation site.

It has also come to light that iPhone 6 were purchased by PAAS leaders using the fund received from the community to help the families of victim.

As per the details that have emerged now, police has also moved teams to get CCTV footage of hotels in Mount Abu and Masuri where Hardik stayed, most probably using the fund.

Hardik and others had visited Masuri based hotel with their female friends according to the reports.

Other details coming out are that Hardik called for Rs 30,000 when he was in Mount Abu.

In another development, the allegations of Congress link to Hardik Patel are not merely allegations anymore. Top Congress leader Siddharth Patel today admitted that he had held meeting with Hardik Patel.

BM Mangukya rubbishes Crime the allegations

Hardik Patel’s lawyer Babubhai Mangukiya who is also state Congress legal cell head, today told media that Hardik’s house is 70 var in size. If you demolish it completely and rebuild it thrice, it would not cost Rs 8 lakh. Mangukiya said Patidar community has given fund to Hardik for agitation, and none other than Patidars has right to question Hardik over fund utilization.
