First tower of World Trade Center at GIFT City likely to be ready by 2018

The raft foundations for the first tower of World Trade Center, expected to be completed by 2018, in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) near capital Gandhinagar in now ready.
Viridian RED, the real estate development arm of Viridian Group, which is setting up Gujarat’s first WTC and developing an iconic building as its seat has caste the massive concrete structure.
Raft foundation is a thick concrete slab reinforced with steel which covers the entire contact area of the structure like a thick floor. The raft work at the foundation site is expected to be completed in next few months.
Mr. Prashant Tripathi, spokesperson of Viridian Group today said, “GIFT City which is emerging as India’s global financial hub is the ideal location for WTC’s entry into Gujarat. Construction work has begun at full swing on ground after getting all the required permissions and our first tower is going to be ready for occupants in next 24 months’ time. For this foundation, we have erected 1,100 tons of steel and casted more than 5,000 cubic meters of concrete.”
WTC Gift City has been allocated 1 million square feet space. The company will invest around Rs. 600 crore over the next couple of years. GIFT, a globally bench-marked International Financial Service Center (IFSC) developed by Government of Gujarat, will cater to India’s large financial services potential by offering global firms, world-class infrastructure and facilities.
