Bus tragedy: Toll rises to 41 including 21 women, CM may visit Navsari

The toll in the deadly bus accident in Navsari district has risen to 41 with around 20 injured people still recovering in the hospital, police said today.
Navsari police control room today said that a total of 15 men and 21 women and 5 children have died in the accident that took place at around 5 pm last evening when a bus of Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) going from Navsari to Ukai fell off the bridge on Purna river near Supa village on Bardoli road under Navsari rural police station.
The driver and the conductor of the bus have also died.
Meanwhile, chief minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel is likely to come here to see the injured this afternoon.
The state government has already ordered an inquiry in to the accident which prima facie seems to have taken place owing to loss of control by the driver.
An ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the kin of each deceased will be given while the state government will bear all the expenses on the treatment of injured.
