Popular film-star Akshay Kumar will flag off the Surat Night Marathon event this Saturday (February 13) which is expected to be participated by over 15,000 citizens. The event is organized by city police, municipal corporation and district collector.

The marathon run will start at Maniba party plot on VIP road. Marathon run will cover 41.195 km while half marathon 21.0975 km, open race 10 km, Surtilala masti run 5 km, Theme custom run 5 km, Spirit of Surat run 1 km, Senior citizen run 2 km and also a corporate rally. Full marathon is going to be participated by 175, while 21 km run will have 1500 participants and 10 km run shall have 2500 participants.

There are total prizes worth Rs 12 lakh for winners. Winner of marathon run will ge Rs 75,000 prize while half marathon winner will get Rs 50,000 prize.

While number of participants are likely to be around 15,000, there will be another 50,000 citizens present to cheer the participants.

The fund raised through this event will be used for CCTV camera project, Swachch Bharat Abhiyan and Cancer hospital.
