Vehicle washed away in Gujarat floods found after 10 months

The police in Banaskantha district is still clueless about the one missing person whose vehicle, washed away in the devastating flood caused by heavy rains almost ten months ago, was found buried under a river bed in Totana area under Thara police station two days ago.
PSI of Thara M M Desai today said that there were 3 people in the Innova which was washed away during the floods on July 23 last year. Bodies of two of them was found by the NDRF team deployed for relief and rescue work. But the vehicle and the third man Vijay Trivedi remained missing.
‘Two days back when an earth digging machine was taking out sand from the Banas river near Totana, the debris of the badly damaged vehicle was seen and pulled out but there were no human remains in it,’ he said.
Mr Desai said the police was still clueless about the Vijay Trivedi.
The devastating extremely heavy rain in July last year had caused widespread damage in the North Gujarat particularly Banaskantha. More than 70 people were killed of which over 40 death were reported from Banskantha alone where army along with other agencies was deployed for relief and rescue work. Hundreds of cattle were also killed while roads and rail tracks were damaged due to floods.
