June 14, 2016
Kolkata: Telecom major Tata Teleservices (TTSL) is working on a platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) segment, a senior company official said.
“TTSL is working on a platform for IoT and soon some announcements in this regard can be expected,” TTSL Enterprise VP, South East, Avinash Gabriel told PTI.
Company officials said TTSL is offering IoT solutions but is trying to build a platform which can be harnessed for ‘plug-and-play’ operations.
IoT is a network of physical objects and equipments with sensors that are connected and can exchange data.
There has been remarkable adoption of enterprise solutions by small and medium enterprises, he said.
He said TTSL already offers some services like tracking of vehicles and remote meter reading solutions to a state-owned power utility, among others.
SMEs account for 25 per cent of total enterprise business for telecom industry.
Gabriel said TTSL is growing at 12-13 per cent in Kolkata against enterprise industry’s growth of 7 per cent.
