Gujarat Science City to release 3D IMAX movie Penguins next week

Gujarat Science City is all set to add wings to the imagination of the students and teachers as well as the visitors in releasing an exciting environmental film, PENGUINS in its IMAX 3D Theatre on the Tuesday, June 21, 2016.

While June 21 is being observed as the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere, the IMAX 3D Theatre in Science City will take the visitors to Antarctica in Southern Hemisphere for the eye-catching PENGUINS city.

Penguin 3D is an exciting and enjoyable documentary that really jumps out at you on the giant IMAX screen, especially with the inclusion of 3D.

Narrated by David Attenborough, “Penguins 3D” celebrates the destiny of a very special King Penguin, who returns to his birthplace in the sub-Antarctic. Known as Penguin City, the island is home to hundreds of albatrosses, fur seals and brawling elephant seals—as well as six million penguins! Somehow our hero must earn his place among the island inhabitants and fulfil his destiny by finding a mate and raising a family.

What follows is the story of the most challenging time in a King Penguin’s life, when he is driven to nurture and defend his offspring against harsh weather and fierce predators.

This cosmic drama plays out in one of Earth’s last great wildernesses, amid steep mountain ranges and windblown plains half buried beneath snow and ice. “Penguins 3D” is an unforgettable tale of one King Penguin’s journey through his species’ central rite of passage.

“Penguins 3D” is a presentation of nWave Pictures Distribution and Serengeti Entertainment. Written and narrated by David Attenborough, the film is produced by Anthony Geffen and Sias Wilson and features cinematography by Simon Niblett and original music by James Edward Barker.

The film was entirely filmed in 3D, using state-of-the-art technologies, and on location in South Georgia Island, a British overseas territory located in the southern Atlantic Ocean.

As the new academic sessions in school and colleges is just starting, the new scientific film PENGUINS will add many learning goals on environment, ecology and atmospheric sciences.

The PEGUINS film will be screened in three shows daily starting at 12.00 hrs, 16.00 hrs and 18.00 hrs in Science City. In addition, there are other scientific films namely, Walking on the Moon, Hubble and Under The Sea are also being screened daily.

Looking at the larger screening of the school and college students and teachers, the Gujarat Science City has a special ticket price of Rs.50/- per students where as the normal ticket price is Rs.125/- per general visitors.

Be ready to travel a distance of 13,300 km from Gujarat Science City to Penguin City in South Georgia Island near Antarctica on South Pole in a virtual 40 minutes trip in IMAX 3D Theatre.
